Apple does not make old operating systems easily available to the public, but they are not deleted from its servers. If you want 5k then you really should do it Apple's way with the OS du jour. Because Apple hardware is fixed and what it is not, particularly GPU hardware and drivers, and what users do on it is also fixed under the hood improvements, unawesome as they are, also are difficult to appreciate in newer versions of OSX but are there.
